Everyone has to make a living but shouldn't you be guaranteed that you'll be safe if you do?
That's what the Community Futures White Horse Plains (CFWHP) next luncheon will focus on in a couple weeks at Canad Inns
On Feb. 23, the CFWHP will partner with the Portage la Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce and 1 Life Workplace Safety and Health to present a Critical Education Workshop for all Manitoba Employers called 'Safe Business is Smart Business'.
Ken Keith, executive director of the Central Plains Inc, said that workplace is safety is an important aspect of business that must not be ignored.
"It's important to business because employees are their most important asset and most valuable resources. When you think of it as someone getting hurt, not only do those people suffer personally in their families but also causes concern in the business," said Keith.
The lunch will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and cost those who interested $25.
The content expected to be covered includes: What you need to do to protect your people and business from loss and liability; top five reasons that employers are charged with safety violations; and, an overview of new legislation that has been passed on workplace safety over the last year.
"It makes sense for business leaders to be knowledgeable about workplace safety matters and risks in their companies," said Keith.
For more information on how you can get involved, contact the CP Inc. at 856-5000 or call CFWHP at 239-0135.
